The First College of Engineering & Petroleum Poster Day

The College of Engineering & Petroleum, Kuwait University is organizing its first Posters Day. Posters provide an excellent forum for authors to present their work in an informal and interactive setting. Posters are intended to provide authors and participants with the ability to interact with each other and to engage in discussions about their research.

The objectives of the Posters Day are:
1 - To serve as a forum for researchers to present their ongoing research at the local level.
2 - To encourage and facilitate the establishment of collaborative research works through increasing awareness about ongoing research at the different Departments/Faculties within Kuwait University.
3 - To serve as a forum for researchers to get feedback from their colleagues/other experts on their ongoing research.
4 - To motivate the researchers to produce high quality research through recognition, i.e., by giving awards to the best posters.

Successful posters are carefully designed to convey technical details. They should attract the attention of attendees as they stroll past the displays. The goal is to develop a poster that encourages and facilitates small groups of individuals interested in a technical area to gather and interact.

Faculty members, researchers, engineers and graduate students associated with the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University are welcome to present their works during the Posters Day to be held at Farouk Barghash Hall on the 15th of May 2008.

To participate in the Posters Day, please submit an Abstract using the Automatic Submission System located at http://poster.eng.kuniv.edu/ . Abstracts of the posters will be reviewed by the Technical Committee.

Awards will be given at the conference for the best three posters. The First Prize winner(s) will get an award of 500 K.D. ; the second and third prize winners will get awards of 300 K.D. and 200 K.D. respectively. 

To reach a larger audience, proceedings of the presented posters will be published. Authors of the displayed posters must provide a 2-3 pages extended summary of their presented work to be published in the proceedings.
